At The Watch Counter we love fine-dining. A balance of creativity and engineering resulting in an experience that is greater than the sum of the parts. But ask yourself, really, what is your favourite meal? We bet it’s something simple that reminds you of a time, place or person.

For us watches are just the same. The attention always goes to outlandishly expensive and complicated watches, but when asked “What is your favourite watch in your collection?”, the answer is invariably sentimental. Memories & stories are clearly what matter to us most, so why have we stopped paying attention to them when we choose to buy watches?

After struggling to come to terms with the now overly-commercialised and increasingly dubious watch industry, I have chosen to take a lifelong passion to the next level. With over 20 years of experience collecting, buying and trading watches I know I will not be the solution, but refuse to be part of the problem.

The Watch Counter is a part-time & low-volume dealership that brings the humanity back to watch collecting by passing on previous owners’ stories with each watch. This is hard to do, it doesn’t make commercial sense, and won’t always be possible - but we are going to try. Your favourite meal brings back memories, let’s make sure watches do the same.

  • It goes without saying that all of our watches come with a lifetime warranty on authenticity. Although information about watches is more available than ever, it is still a difficult industry to navigate. We have extensive experience in identifying counterfeit, “non-correct” and Frankenstein watches. All of our watches are thoroughly inspected by ourselves and top class watchmakers to keep you safe from even the most subtle tricks of the trade. We have no interest in trying to deceive, so buy with confidence. We’ve got your back.

  • Parting with money online, regardless of the amount can be intimidating. We promise to provide complete transparency, highlighting all of the details collectors care about, without added embellishment. Additional pictures, videos and consultations are of course available at request - in fact we encourage it.

  • We love watches at all price levels, especially the lower end of the spectrum which is rife with hidden gems.

    The more upmarket the dealer, the higher the mark-up. We are real humans running a low volume, part time business borne out of passion. We’re not as polished or slick as the big dogs, but we also don’t have the associated overheads so can offer you the fairest possible prices.

  • All of our watches are inspected, cleaned and serviced before we share them. We offer a one year mechanical warranty to give collectors peace of mind. If anything happens, or you change your mind, we will buy back your watch at the fairest price we can offer.
